Name: Edward D Wood Jr
Widely regarded as the creator of some of the worst films in the history of cinema, Wood drifted to Hollywood in 1947 and worked for a time as a stunt double and as an extra, with the already established dream of writing and directing his own films. Wood did manage to write, photograph and direct a short film in 1948, "Streets of Laredo", but was unable to get together the money to add on any soundtrack. It would not be until 1953 that Wood was able to make his first feature--and one of his most famous--"Glen or Glenda?".
